A Poem from a Fellow Eagle

So I started off at EagleU,
with thoughts and intentions led askew,
thinking this would be a waste of time,
and never believing I would write this rhyme.
But incidentally it happened this way,
slowly but surely, day by day,
the people around befriended me,
and I came to find a second family.
After my homesickness was expelled,
it felt alright to come out of my shell, I wondered what happened but alas, I had found a new home in Dallas.
As the week went on with my new relatives, I took in all they had to give, their beauty, their passion, their sincerity, hoping any of this would rub off on me.
I learned to always reach for my dreams, which werent as impossible as they seemed, to always ALWAYS go for the glow, and to always let my confidence show.
I've learned tips and lessons so invaluable, that forgetting them is unallowable, but i also met people who inspired me, and who completely changed my personality.
People who reminded m of my passion for music, and led me to see how i could use it, people who taught me to never assume, so many lessons learned in this room.
So now, Ive felt Ive said enough,
for saying what Im feeling is tough,
but in this place, i was truly touched,
and i felt it necessary to say this much.
Let me try and translate my heart,
which i should have done from the start...
I love you all only after a few days,
and i dnt think ive ever felt this way,
for me to share this much emotion,
yesterdays tears could fill an ocean.
I am comfortable to say, going on living, the only turkeys ill see are on Thanksgiving, so finally ill say goodbye, but go on dear eagles, spread your wings and fly....
and if after the show, im nowhere to be seen, im in the hottub on floor fifteen!!

What is Happiness?

"The happiness of a man in this life does not consist in the absence but in the mastery of his passions."
- Alfred Lord Tennyson

"Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be."
- Abrhaham Lincoln

Happiness can mean different things to different people. But is happiness relative to each person or are there common traits among happy people? What does a truly happy person look like?

We want to know what you think! Finish these sentences:

I define happiness as...
A happy person...

A Note from a Fellow Eagle

Casey attended our January 2008 program in Dallas and wrote us this note soon after:

Hey guys this is Casey Stewart, I just wanted to say thank you for the experience of Eagle U. The day after I got home i got a call from the hospital asking me to come in for an interview. i wasn't nervous at all because we had just learned everything you need to do in an interview. I went for a second interview today and they offered me the job. They also offered me quite a bit more starting pay simply because they liked how I conducted myself throughout. So i just wanted to thank you guys for Eagle U, it is already paying off.
- Casey Stewart

That's awesome Casey! Way to go!
